Right - in 1975, Heuliez proposed this hatchback version of the GS to Citroën. This was rejected but five years later Citroën launched its own hatchback version - the GSA. In 1980, the GSA was launched, featuring a five door hatchback body, new dash featuring PRN satellites (in the UK the GSA soldiered on with the old style dash for a year or so) new plastic bumpers and a new grille.

This 1982 Citroen GSA X3 is said to have been imported to the USA by an Austrian diplomat and then put in storage for 20 years. The seller adds that it has only 119k km and is in good overall condition, though no mention is made of rust. The X3 was the sporting GSA, and even 30 years on it still manages to look futuristic and unmistakably French.
