I have been to Cyprus many times now. My first trip was in 1987. I visited the Kourion ruins, between Limassol (Lemesos on road signs) and Episkopi at that time. I saw a beautiful beach below the ruins but did not have time to go. I have been able to visit several times since. The beach is quiet, has a gentle gradient under the waves.

Reviewed January 9, 2023. Visited here to cool off after a trip to Kourion Archealogical Park. The beach itself is not that impressive, quite stony and there was some building work going on whilst we were there. But it was quiet and what made it stand out was the sea, we spent ages wave jumping. Probably not enough to surf, but great fun.

Kourion beach is a long open beach with lots of sandy areas and some pebble beds. Much of the water is shallow and safe.. We've been to a couple of beaches during our stay in Western Cyprus, but Kourion was the best by far. It is close to Limassol, but Paphos is also in a 30 minutes drive. We found the Paphos and other Western beaches too.
