It is not true that Italo Treno is cheaper than Trenitalia as a general matter, only on SOME trains on SOME days of the week, depending on schedules and when tickets are purchased. At OTHER times, Trenitalia may be cheaper. Italo Treno does NOT operate out of the central Roma Termini Station.

All 25 Italo trains have wi-fi, as have all 30 of Trenitalia's Frecciarossa trains and an increasing number of its Frecciargento trains, but not yet all.. Trenitalia's wifi is not strictly free, as you have to purchase your access code by credit card for the enormous sum of €0.01!

Why say they provide free Wi-Fi on board when it simply doesn't work properly. When stationary or moving slowly incredibly slow, so slow in fact it just want worth bothering. There are some first class (fresco-rossa - something like that) trains that are very nice from trenitalia. I took the trenitalia (fresco-rosso) train from Venice to Florence, splurged on first class, and enjoyed it.
