The first records of Bradenham date back to 1042 in the reign of Edward the Confessor. These records show that the Manor was a "Lordship" in the hands of two brother who held it as a gift from the King. The Norman Conquest of 1066 AD led to the great survey which resulted in The Domesday Book in 1086 to facilitate the assessment and collection.
